How to unlock Malsingmaps?

The Jetmouse Keygen can generate an unlock code for the locked Malsingmap but doing so is cumbersome – whoever needs the map would need to make his/her own code.

Thus, the best way is to completely unlock Malsingmaps such that when loaded by Garmin, it does not prompt for the unlock code. But how do you do that?

Step 1: Split Malsingmaps into its constituent sub-maps.

You will need GMapTool. Download and run the tool. Load Malsingmaps (i.e. gmapsupp.img). Then Split it to, say, C:\maps.

Step 2: Unlock the constituent maps.

Put all the constituent maps into a specific folder, say, C:\maps, then use GarminUnlocker.exe by whocares to unlock all of them. For example, open Command Prompt (Start Menu, Accessories) and type the following:

C:\> cd C:\maps
C:\maps> GarminUnlocker.exe imgset C:\maps

Step 3: Combine the unlocked maps

Return to GMapTool. Add the constituent maps  from C:\maps. Then use Join to combine all the unlocked, constituent maps back to the single gmapsupp.img (Output File). Type in the desired description for your unlocked map under Mapset name. Remember to check “Remove unlock codes“.

That’s all! Remember to compress your file into a ZIP or RAR archive before sending to your friends. 🙂

So let me reword this…. Thank YOU for the meal!! But yeah, thanks for spending time to discuss this issue here on your website.
